Fellow Experience
In our one-year, SAEM-approved medical education fellowship, fellows take an active role in the management of our innovative medical education programs while engaging in novel scholarship. It is designed around the principle of hands-on learning as fellows take on the role of either Interim Assistant Residency Program Director or Interim Assistant Clerkship Director.
Fellows teach all levels of learners, from M2 students on their required EM rotation through continuing medical education for faculty in a variety of settings including small groups, simulations and lectures. Fellows work on our Medical Education Scholarship committee. Weekly fellowship meetings cover all aspects of what it means to be a successful modern medical educator, and fellows receive robust support for formal outside educational experiences such as a master’s degree.
“My MedEd fellowship has been a blast. Lots of opportunities for scholarship and massive engagement from my fellowship team. I valued the opportunity to work closely with the Research Committee, Residency Leadership team, and Medical Student Clerkship team.” – Corlin Jewell, MD, Fellow 2020-21
