Fellow Experience
Our one-year ACGME-accredited EMS fellowship combines ground, aeromedical and tactical EMS exposure with administrative, leadership, and research activities, including utilization of two dedicated physician response vehicles for on-scene field experience and the ability to train with our world-class helicopter EMS unit.
Our program trains physicians in medical direction for ground and air transport, disaster preparedness, event medicine, tactical EMS, QA/QI, prehospital research, and EMS education. The fellowship is flexible to allow time to explore individual interests and scholarship.
Graduates are fully prepared to sit for their American Board of Emergency Medicine EMS board certification exam and to provide exceptional medical direction to prehospital emergency care agencies with advanced competencies in EMS operations, administration, and clinical care.
“The EMS fellowship offers incredible opportunities to work with area paramedics, firefighters, and the faculty best mentors!” – Emily Fleming, MD, EMS Fellow 2020-2021
