Fellow Experience
An operational leader needs to manage a team, interpret and make data-driven decisions, enhance efficiency while maintaining patient safety, and embody continual improvement. Whether your goal is to pursue leadership within a critical access emergency department or an academic center, as a fellow in Administration and Quality Improvement, you will gain the skills needed to jump start your career.
Our one-year fellowship program combines didactics with project management and department committee involvement. It is structured to provide a breadth of education in leadership, quality improvement, and change management with the flexibility to adapt to each fellow’s focus.
“The administration fellowship gave me the opportunity to see how an emergency department operates behind the scenes. From billing and coding to quality improvement and patient safety and beyond, I was able to gain incredible experience in several areas of emergency medicine that will enrich my career moving forward.”
